Donald Keeney Killed in Scioto County, OH, Log Truck Accident
Scioto County, OH -- March 8, 2017, Donald Keeney was killed due to an accident in which his vehicle collided with a log truck.
Investigators from the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that the incident occurred around 9:00 a.m. near the intersection of Route 104 and Route 348.
According to their preliminary investigations, 57-year-old Keeney was traveling along Route 104 in a passenger car. For reasons that aren't entirely clear, his vehicle crossed paths with an oncoming 18-wheeler hauling logs. The two vehicles crashed head-on, and Keeney's vehicle went underneath the truck.
Rescue crews had to cut the vehicle to get to Keeney. His injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.
At this time, police have not confirmed what caused the accident. They say investigations are ongoing.
