1 Injured in Cresskill, NJ, Garbage Truck Accident on Knickerbocker

Cresskill, NJ -- February 24, 2017, a woman was injured as the result of an accident where she was struck by a garbage truck on Knickerbocker Road.

The accident was investigated by local authorities who indicated that it happened in the morning hours near the intersection of Knickerbocker Road and Madison Avenue.

Preliminary accident reports indicate that a woman, who wasn't identified, was attempting to cross the intersection. As she did so, a Bergen County garbage truck somehow could not avoid her, striking her in the middle of the road.

The woman suffered serious injuries in the accident, and she was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment.

At this time, police have not indicated what caused the accident to occur. The crash remains under investigation.
