Alex Witt Killed in Ski Accident in Carrabassett Valley, ME

Carrabasset Valley, ME -- An incident at a ski resort in Carrabasset Valley, ME killed 24-year-old Alex Witt Friday, March 3, 2017.

The incident took place at Sugarloaf resort.

At the time of the report, it looked like the victim was on the double-black diamond Skidder trail when fell down the mogul course. Rescue units were able to transport Mr. Witt--an employee of the resort--to the first aid clinic. Mr. Witt was declared dead a short time later.

It is unclear at this time exactly what caused the incident.

The official investigation into the incident is ongoing and may reveal more details as it concludes.
