Charlie Hurtado Killed in Accident in El Paso, TX

El Paso, TX -- A single-vehicle crash in the area of El Paso, TX claimed the life of 18-year-old Charlie Hurtado Tuesday, March 7, 2017.

The incident took place near 1300 Joe Battle Blvd. around 4:45 a.m.

According to the reports, a 2016 Toyota Tundra occupied by the victim was headed south on Joe Battle when the incident happened. It looks like the Toyota for reasons unclear failed in an attempt to turn left at a turnaround lane. The vehicle reportedly crashed into a cement pillar.

Mr. Hurtado was initially taken to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. However, Mr. Hurtado was later pronounced dead.

The exact cause of the incident is unclear, but police say they believe excessive speed was a factor.
