Patrick Beattie Killed in McAlester, OK, Car Accident

McAlester, OK -- March 5, 2017, Patrick Beattie was killed as the result of an accident in which his vehicle crashed off the side of the highway.

Officials from the Oklahoma State Highway Patrol were called to the accident scene just north of town. The crash happened in the afternoon along US Highway 69.

Initial police reports indicate that 69-year-old Beattle, a resident of Springtown, TX, was traveling southbound along the highway. For reasons yet to be determine, his vehicle lost control and veered off the side of the highway. As a result, it crashed into a concrete barrier and came to a halt.

Authorities say that Beattle died from his injuries at the scene of the crash. They have not yet determined what factors contributed to the accident.

Investigations are ongoing.
