Rolando Barnes, Shelley Vaught Injured in Jasper, TX, Accident

Jasper, TX -- March 6, 2017, Rolando Barnes and Shelley Vaught were injured following an accident where their vehicles crashed on the highway.

According to reports released by the Jasper Police Department, the incident happened at about 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of highway 63 and FM 2799.

Preliminary investigations indicate that 27-year-old Barnes was traveling westbound along the highway. He attempted to turn onto FM 2799, putting him into the path of an eastbound Chevy SUV driven by 45-year-old Vaught. The two vehicles collided in the intersection.

Both drivers sustained non-critical injuries in the collision, and emergency personnel transported them to CHRISTUS Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Authorities did not say if any charges or citations resulted from the accident. They did not release any further information.
