Megan E. Villanella Killed, One Hurt in Accident in Essex County, NJ

Essex County, NJ -- A crash in Essex County, NJ left 34-year-old Megan E. Villanella dead, and injured her 30-year-old brother Friday, March 4, 2017.

The incident took place on Lakeside and Pease Avenues around 7:45 a.m.

It appears the two victims were standing on the sidewalk when a vehicle jumped the curb, striking them. Ms. Villanella was killed at the scene of the incident. Her brother, who remains unidentified, was taken to University Hospital and was last listed in critical condition.

At the time of the report, officials say there were no pending charges in the incident.

Officials are investigating the deadly crash at this time.
