4 Injured in Olney, TX, School Bus Accident on Highway 251

Olney, TX -- March 3, 2017, at least four people were injured following an accident where a school bus and a pickup crashed on Highway 251.

Investigators from the Texas Department of Public Safety were called to the scene at around 4:00 p.m. The crash occurred near the intersection of Highway 251 and True Road.

According to preliminary reports, a school bus was traveling down the highway carrying an unspecified number of students. The bus came to a stop on the road, and shortly afterward it was rear-ended by a pickup.

As a result of the collision, at least four students were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their injuries were not said to be life-threatening. The pickup driver had minor injuries.

Authorities say the pickup driver was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. No official charges were reported.
