Woman Injured in El Paso, TX, 18-wheeler Accident on I-10

El Paso, TX -- March 6, 2017, a woman was seriously injured as the result of an accident where her car was rear-ended by an 18-wheeler on I-10.

Authorities from the El Paso Police Department were called to the scene of the accident at approximately 5:40 a.m. near the intersection of I-10 and Horizon Boulevard.

According to preliminary investigations, a woman was driving a Mustang westbound on I-10 when she suddenly slowed down. As she did so, she was struck from behind by an 18-wheeler the was also westbound.

As a result of the crash, the woman suffered critical injuries. She was transported to Del Sol Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the 18-wheeler had minor injuries and was also taken to Del Sol Medical Center.

Authorities did not issue any citations or charges following the crash. Their investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
