Regina Durham Killed, Laurence Drashner Injured in Garland Co., AR, Accident

-- March 5, 2017, Regina Durham was killed, Laurence Drashner was injured, in Garland County, AR, following an accident where their cars crashed head-on.

Investigators from the Arkansas State Police were called to investigate the two-vehicle accident at around 6:40 a.m. The crash happened north of Piney along State Highway 227.

According to their reports, 45-year-old Durham was traveling northbound on Highway 227 in a Chevy HHR. In the eastbound lanes was 65-year-old Drashner driving a Kia Borrego. For reasons which investigators have not determined, the Kia crossed over the center traffic line into oncoming traffic. This resulted in a head-on collision between the two vehicles.

Emergency services rushed out to the scene where Durham was found in critical condition. She was taken to CHI St. Vincent hospital, and she later died there. Drashner was also taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

Authorities did not indicate what factors contributed to the accident. They say weather at the time was rainy.
