1 Killed in Dallas, TX, Preston Place Condo Fire off Northwest Highway
Dallas, TX -- March 3, 2017, a body was found in the debris of the Preston Tower Condominiums after a massive fire burned through 60 units.
Authorities were called to the intersection of Preston Road and the Northwest Highway in the late evening hours of Friday at the condo complex located at 6211 W Northwest Highway.
According to authorities, a massive fire broke out that quickly spread through the complex, destroying approximately 60 units and displacing around 100 residents. Following the fire, authorities reported that 89-year-old Jacqueline McDonald was missing from the scene.
As of Monday, March 6, fire investigators reported finding a deceased body in the wreckage. It has not been confirmed that this is McDonald. Investigators continue the identification process.
It has not yet been determined what the cause of the fire was. Authorities say the damage was extensive, and it will taker some time to find the proximate cause.
