One Injured in Accident on Highway 96 in Sabine County, TX

Sabine County, TX -- A crash in the area of Sabine County, TX left one unidentified person with critical injuries Thursday, February 2, 2017.

The incident took place on U.S. Highway 96 around 3 p.m.

It appears the victim's pickup truck was traveling along 96 when for reasons unclear it rolled over and into a group of trees. The vehicle subsequently became tangled up in power lines as well. According to the report, the injured driver required extrication from the vehicle. His injuries required air transport to a nearby hospital.

The exact cause of the crash was unclear at the time of the report.

The official investigation into the incident is ongoing.
