John Mason Jr. Killed in Accident near Malaga, NM

Malaga, NM -- A single-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer took the life of 69-year-old John Mason Jr. near Malaga, NM Saturday, February 25, 2017.

The incident took place on CR 725 around 9 a.m.

At the time of the report, the semi occupied by the victim was headed south when it careened off the roadway. The truck then collided with a guardrail. Mr. Mason, the operator of the truck, was killed at the scene of the incident. The report made no mention of other injuries in the incident. The exact cause of the incident had not been determined at the time of the report.

The official investigation into the incident is currently underway.
