Andrew Sommer Injured in Houston, TX, Parking Garage Accident

Houston, TX -- February 27, 2017, Andrew Sommer sustained injuries following an accident in which his vehicle drove off a parking garage.

Police and other emergency responders were called to Westheimer Plumbing Hardware off the intersection of Richmond Avenue and Kirby Drive.

Authorities say that 16-year-old Sommer was in his vehicle inside the shopping center parking garage. Reports stated that he accidentally hit the accelerator instead of hitting the brake, causing the vehicle to strike the safety wall.

The vehicle broke through the wall and tumbled off the side of the garage. It flipped upside down and landed on the roof of the hardware store, breaching through.

As a result of the collision, Sommer suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Investigators did not report any additional details surrounding the accident.
