Juliana Taperia & Jose Taperia Killed in Accident in Columbus, GA

Columbus, GA -- A crash involving a passenger vehicle in the area of Columbus, GA took the lives of 13-year-old Jose Taperia and 6-year-old Juliana Taperia Saturday, February 25, 2017.

The incident took place on Interstate 85 N close to Victory Drive.

According to the reports, the vehicle occupied by the deceased cousins was headed east when it struck a guardrail, crashed into an embankment, and rolled down hill. The exact cause of the incident had yet to be determined, but police say they believe the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed.

The report made no mention of other injuries in the incident.

The official investigation is ongoing and may reveal more details as it concludes.
