Gene Hughey Injured in Accident in Jasper, TX

Jasper, TX -- A single-vehicle crash in the area of Jasper, TX left 51-year-old Gene Hughey with injuries Saturday, February 25, 2017.

The incident took place on Highway 96 near the Walnut Run bridge around 8 a.m.

It looks like the Chevy Silverado occupied by Mr. Hughie was traveling along 96 when for reasons unknown it lost control. The truck then veered off the highway, crashing into the creek. By the time emergency crews arrived, they found the victim's vehicle upside down in a small amount of water.

Mr. Hughey taken to a nearby hospital with undisclosed injuries. The report claims he was last listed in stable condition.

The exact cause of the incident had yet to be determined by officials.

The investigation into the single-vehicle collision is ongoing.

At the time of the report, there was no further information made available.
