Jearl Ford Killed in Fulton County, AR, Single-Vehicle Accident

Fulton County, AR -- February 24, 2017, Jearl Ford was killed as the result of an accident where his vehicle crashed off of the highway.

According to a state police report, the fatal crash happened at approximately 2:45 p.m. outside the town of Viola.

The report indicates that 85-year-old Ford was the sole occupant of a 1994 Dodge that was traveling southbound on State Highway 223. About five miles north of US 62/412, the vehicle somehow lost control and veered off the side of the highway. In doing so, it crashed into a culvert and came to a halt.

Due to the severity of the crash, Ford did not survive the collision. At this time, the exact cause of the fatal accident is unclear. Authorities continue their investigations, and additional details are pending their findings.
