Kayla McKellar Killed, Edward Irving Hurt in Garland Co., AR, Accident

Garland County, AR -- February 22, 2017, Kayla McKellar was killed, Edward Irving injured, following an accident between their two vehicles.

A preliminary Arkansas State Police report indicates that the accident happened in the Hot Springs Village area at around 5:34 p.m.

The report says that 26-year-old McKellar was driving a Chrysler southbound along State Highway 5. 65-year-old Irving was in a Honda traveling northbound. Police claim that the Chrysler crossed over the yellow line into oncoming traffic. This resulted in a head-on collision between the two cars.

As a result of the collision, McKellar died at the scene. Irving was transported to St. Vincent in Hot Springs.

No particular cause for the accident has been suggested at this time. Investigations are ongoing.
