John Carney Killed in Skiing Accident in Mansfield, OH

Mansfield, OH -- A skiing incident at Snow Trails in Mansfield, OH took the life of 59-year-old John Carney around noon Friday, February 17, 2017.

According to the reports, the man was behind a girl on the slopes and another man when he tried to avoid colliding with the man. At some point during this attempt, the victim collided with a pole at high speeds. Ski patrol attempted lifesaving procedures on the man, leaving him hospitalized. The man was pronounced dead a short time later.

The official investigation into the deadly incident is currently ongoing.
