Skateboarder Injured in Waco, TX, Car Accident on Bagby Ave

Waco, TX -- February 23, 2017, a man was injured after an accident where he was hit by a car while skateboarding on Bagby Avenue.

The accident happened at about 1:00 p.m. on the south end of the Baylor University Campus. Authorities say it happened at a crosswalk on Bagby.

Their preliminary investigations indicate that a vehicle approached the intersection as three women were about to cross. The pedestrian reportedly waved the car forward, and as it proceeded, another pedestrian on a skateboard went across the crosswalk. The car hit that pedestrian onto the roadway.

Emergency response crews were called to the scene. The man was responsive when taken to a local hospital. His injuries were said to be non-critical.

Authorities did not say if any citations or charges resulted from the accident. No additional details are currently available.
