Pedestrian Injured in Grand Rapids, MI, Box Truck Accident on 28th

Grand Rapids, MI -- February 23, 2017, a pedestrian was injured as the result of an accident where they were hit by a box truck on 28th Street.

According to Grand Rapids authorities, the crash happened in the morning hours, before 7:00 a.m., at the intersection of 28th Street and Eastern Avenue.

Reports have stated that a pedestrian was attempting to cross 28th when a box truck failed to notice the person in time, resulting in a collision. As the pedestrian was on the ground, a car slammed on its brakes to avoid another collision. After this, a semi-trailer rear-ended the car.

The pedestrian was the only person who sustained injuries in the accident. EMS transported that person to a nearby hospital with non-critical injuries.

It's unclear if authorities issued any citations after the accident. No further information is currently available.
