Woman Killed, One Hurt in Suspected Alcohol Related Accident on Mt. Pleasant Road in Willow Spring, NC

Willow Spring, NC -- An alleged DUI crash in the area of Willow Spring, NC claimed the life of an unidentified woman, and left one injured Saturday, February 18, 2017.

The incident took place on Mt. Pleasant Rd. around 3:25 p.m.

Officials say the an SUV crashed in what appears to be a single-vehicle incident. The passenger in the vehicle, whose name has not been disclosed, was killed in the collision. The driver of the vehicle sustained multiple injuries, and was hospitalized. The exact cause of the crash is unclear.

Authorities are examining the possibility of alcohol playing a role in the crash.

The official investigation is ongoing and may reveal more details as it concludes.
