Robert Robbins Killed in Accident in Jackson County, IN

Jackson County, IN -- A suspected alcohol related crash in the area of Jackson County, IN took the life of 27-year-old Robert Robbins Tuesday, February 21, 2017.

The crash happened on U.S. 31 about 11 p.m.

It appears Mr. Robbins was the sole occupant of a Mazda 5 that veered off the road at a sharp turn. The vehicle then hit a guardrail, ejecting Mr. Robbins from the vehicle. The victim was declared dead at the scene of the incident. The exact cause of the crash has not been determined.

Officials are examining excessive speed and alcohol as potential factors in the crash.

The investigation is currently underway.
