Woman Killed in Fort Bend Co., TX, Pedestrian Accident on US 59

Fort Bend County, TX -- February 22, 2017, a woman was killed after an accident where she was struck by a vehicle on FM 762 that then fled the scene.

Officials from the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Department were called to the scene at around 3:00 a.m. It happened near the intersection of Highway 59 and Williams Way Boulevard.

According to preliminary reports, a woman was walking along Highway 59. As she did so, a red SUV drove past and struck her, knocking her onto the roadway. The vehicle then left the scene while the woman was critically injured.

EMS officials say that the woman died at the scene some time later. Police eventually located a vehicle matching witness descriptions, and a suspect has been questioned. It's unclear if arrests were made.
