David Brewer Killed in Shop Accident in South Toledo, OH

Toledo, OH -- A workplace incident at Meldrum Mechanical Services in the area of South Toledo, OH took the life of 49-year-old David Brewer December 2, 2016.

The incident happened on 4455 South Avenue around 8:15 p.m.

Mr. Brewer, a resident of Oregon, worked in the metal working and machine shop. For reasons unclear, his clothing became caught up in one of the machines. Firefighters were called to extricate the worker from the machinery, but they were too late. At the time of the report, the victim's cause of death was listed as asphyxiation.

The exact cause of the deadly incident has not been determined.

Officials with OSHA were investigating the incident at the time of the report.

There was no further information at the time of its release.
