Gilberto Santana, Gilbert Munoz, Chris Zamoa, Ryan Reyes, Magino Lara, 1 Other Injured in Point Comfort, TX, Accident

Point Comfort, TX -- October 5, 2016, Gilberto Santana, Gilbert Munoz, Chris Zamoa, Ryan Reyes, Magino Lara, and another worker were hurt chlorine accident.

Reports indicate that the incident occurred at a Formosa Plastics facility located at 201 Formosa Drive.

According to authorities, multiple workers were exposed to toxic chlorine gas after tubing came loose in the facility and spread the chemical. Those named in this article were among several exposed and transported for medical treatment of chlorine gas inhalation. It's not clear what the severity of the injuries sustained was.

There have been no reports on how exactly the incident occurred or what might have caused it. Some reports have shown that this facility has a history spanning many years of being fined by OSHA after inspections. We've even talked about a previous accident where Christopher Adames fell to his death at the plant.

OSHA has not released any further specifics on the accident. Further investigation is needed before any additional details will come to light.
