Julian Lopez Missing, Two Hurt in Accident in Greenfield, CA

Greenfield, CA -- 33-year-old Julian Lopez is missing, and two of his nephews were left with injuries in the area of Greenfield, CA Monday, February 13, 2017.

The incident took place at the Salinas River at the Elm Avenue Bridge.

It appears the three victims were watching the river overflow under the bridge when they were struck by a vehicle. At the time of the report, it seemed the driver of the vehicle crashed through "road closed" signs, subsequently smashing a locked metal gate. The three victims were forced into the river. Two of the victims, the missing man's nephews, were rescued from the river. One was last listed in critical condition. The second nephew sustained minor injuries.

The cause of the incident is unclear, but police say they believe alcohol was a factor.

Julian Lopez, the 33-year-old uncle of the injured victims, was still missing at the time of the report.

The official investigation is currently underway.
