Eric Lozano Killed in Laredo, TX, Single-Vehicle Accident

Laredo, TX -- February 11, 2017, Eric Lozano was killed as the result of an accident where his vehicle crashed off the highway.

Webb County officials were called to the scene of the accident in the early morning hours of Saturday. They say it happened along southbound US 83 near the intersection of Lomas Del Sur Boulevard.

Preliminary police reports indicate that 23-year-old Lozano was driving southbound on the highway in a GMC Canyon. For reasons that are unclear, his vehicle lost control and veered off the highway. Off-road, the vehicle crashed in the grassy ditch. Lozano was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.

Authorities say that Lozano's injuries were fatal, and he died at the scene. No other motorists appear to be involved in the crash.

It's not yet clear what factors contributed to the accident. No further information has been released as authorities continue their investigations.
