Rodrick Motley Killed in Accident in Detroit, MI

Detroit, MI -- A collision involving a suspected drunk driver claimed the life of FedEx driver Rodrick Motley Tuesday, February 7, 2017.

The incident took place at Newport Street and Chandler Park Drive on the east side of Detroit, according to reports.

It looks like a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Myah Batts was attempting to evade police when it crashed into the vehicle occupied by Mr. Motley. While it has not been confirmed, the report indicates the woman's vehicle drove through a stop sign prior to the collision.

The exact cause of the collision has not been determined, but police say they believe alcohol was a factor.

Mr. Motley was taken to a nearby hospital, but was declared dead.

The investigation is ongoing.
