Trucker Dies in Corpus Christi, TX, I-37 Overpass Accident

Corpus Christi, TX -- February 10, 2017, a truck driver was killed following an accident in which his 18-wheeler somehow crashed into an overpass on I-37.

State Police indicate that the crash happened outside the town of Edroy along I-37. The 18-wheeler was traveling northbound at the time and was the only vehicle reported to be involved.

According to preliminary reports, the semi-trailer somehow lost control on the interstate and ran off the roadway. Before correcting or stopping the vehicle, it crash head-on into a concrete support beam. The collision caused the truck to catch on fire.

The driver was incapacitated in the accident, and he died before help could arrive.

At this time, authorities have yet to indicate any factors contributed to the accident. Their investigations are ongoing.
