1 Killed, Haroute Barbarian Injured in Temecula, CA, Accident

Temecula, CA -- February 9, 2017, one person was killed and Haroute Barbarian was injured following an accident where their dump trucks collided.

The California State Police reported that the collision occurred around 11:00 a.m. near the intersection of Los Gatos Road and Carancho Road.

Their preliminary investigations indicate that 32-year-old Barbarian was traveling southbound on Los Gatos when his 18-wheeler suddenly experienced some sort of mechanical breakdown. He pulled his vehicle over on the narrow roadway and exited the truck in order to inspect it.

As he was outside the vehicle, an unidentified 47-year-old came upon the scene in a southbound Freightliner. The 18-wheeler did not stop in time, and it slammed into the back of the disabled truck.

As a result of the collision, the driver of the Freightliner sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. Barbarian was somehow thrown from the road into a nearby ditch. He was taken to the hospital with reportedly minor injuries.

At this time, authorities have not said if any charges or citations are being considered. Exact factors contributing to the accident have yet to be confirmed.

The accident remains under investigation.
