Ryan James Yancey Killed in Accident in Carey, ID

Carey, ID -- A two-vehicle collision involving tractor-trailers claimed the life of 31-year-old Ryan James Yancey in the area of Carey, ID Thursday, February 9, 2017.

The crash occurred in the westbound lanes of U.S. 20/26/93 about 12 p.m.

The report claims a westbound semi-truck driven by 22-year-old Jeremy Sommers for reasons unknown flipped over, landing on its side. The three trailers, loaded with hay, dumped their load onto the roadway. The bales were then struck by a semi driven by Mr. Yancey, whose vehicle then crashed into a snow berm. Mr. Yancey was allegedly killed at the scene of the incident. The driver of the first semi was uninjured in the incident.

The report provided no further information at the time of its release.

The official investigation is ongoing and may reveal more details as it concludes.
