Jerry Carpenter Killed, One Hurt in Accident in Leflore County, OK

Leflore County, OK -- Jerry Carpenter, 46, a teacher at Poteau High School, was killed, and one person was injured in a collision between a pickup truck, and a tractor-trailer Wednesday, February 8, 2017.

The incident occurred on US 270, according to the report.

It looks like the pickup occupied by Mr. Carpenter was headed west on 270 when the incident took place. His vehicle allegedly collided with an eastbound semi-truck. Mr. Carpenter reportedly sustained several injuries, leading to his death. The driver of the semi, whose identity has not been confirmed, was left with undisclosed injuries in the incident.

The exact cause of the crash has not been determined.

Police officials are currently examining the details of the crash in the hopes of determining the cause.
