One Dead, One Left Missing in Boat Accident on Allatoona Lake in Cherokee Co., GA

Cherokee County, GA -- A boating incident in the area of Cherokee County, GA claimed the life of an unidentified person and left one missing Thursday, February 2, 2017.

The report claims the incident occurred when two boats collided about 1 p.m.

The details of the incident are unclear, but at the time of the report, one person was left dead, and one was still missing. A third person was reportedly found after being in the water for at least 45 minutes. The identities of the victims have not been disclosed.

The official investigation is currently underway and may reveal more details as it concludes.
