9 Injured in Lancaster, CA, School Bus Accident on 20th Street

Lancaster, CA -- February 7, 2017, eight students and a driver were injured following an accident where a school bus and a car crashed on 20th Street.

According to officials from Antelope Valley Union High School District, the accident occurred at the intersection of East 20th Street and East Lancaster Boulevard.

Police reports indicate that school bus was transporting eight special education students to Eastside High School at around 7:15 a.m. At the intersection, the bus somehow crossed paths with a passenger vehicle, and a collision occurred.

All eight students on the bus reported injuries. Injuries were said to be minor except for once student who critically injured. The driver of the car also had critical injuries from the crash. No other injuries were reported.

It's unclear if anyone besides those in critical condition went to a hospital for treatment. The exact cause of the accident is also unclear at this time.

Investigations are ongoing.
