Woman Injured in Jasper, TX, Pedestrian Accident on Hwy 190

Jasper, TX -- February 6, 2017, a woman was injured following an accident where she was hit by a car while walking along Highway 190.

Jasper authorities report that the accident took place around 10:00 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 190 and Highway 96.

Their preliminary investigations indicate that a woman was attempting to walk across the intersection as a vehicle was attempting to turn from US 96 onto westbound Highway 190. As a result, the vehicle struck the woman, knocking her onto the roadway.

The woman was seriously injured in the accident. She was transported to CHRISTUS Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Authorities have not said if any charges or citations are being considered. No particular contributing factors have been mentioned at this time.

Investigations are ongoing.
