One Killed, One Injured in Vail, AZ Train Accident

Vail, AZ -- An incident involving a pedestrian and a train claimed the life of an unidentified victim Saturday, February 4, 2017.

The incident took place near the Marsh Station Road about 2 p.m.

The report claims two pedestrians were struck by a train. A male, who was described as in his "20's," was killed at the scene. A woman in her teens or early 20's was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. It looks like the two were walking along an elevated trestle bridge, and when the train approached, the pair had nowhere to go to avoid the collision.

The report provided no further information at the time of its release.

The official investigation is ongoing and may reveal more details as it concludes.
