1 Killed, 1 Injured in Hutchinson County, TX, Accident on TX-136

Hutchinson County, TX -- February 5, 2017, one person was killed, another injured, following an accident where two cars crashed on State Highway 136.

Officials from the Texas Department of Public Safety were called to investigate the two-vehicle accident which occurred just south of Fritch.

According to their investigations, a vehicle was traveling northbound on Texas Highway 136 outside of Fritch. That vehicle and another vehicle in the opposite lanes somehow crossed paths with each other. This resulted in a head-on collision between the two cars.

One of the drivers sustained fatal injuries in the collision. They were pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver sustained two broken legs in the accident. An ambulance transported them to a hospital in Amarillo for treatment.

No additional details have been released regarding the accident. Investigations are ongoing.
