Jesse Torres Killed, Brennen Hankins Injured in Burkburnett, TX, Accident

Burkburnett, TX -- February 3, 2017, Jesse Torres was killed and Brennan Hankins was injured after a head-on car accident on the interstate.

Burkburnett authorities responded to the two-vehicle accident scene near the intersection of I-44 and Sheppard Road.

According to their early investigations, Hankins was traveling southbound on the interstate. In the opposite lanes was 49-year-old Torres. Police stated that Torres's vehicle somehow lost control and veered across the grassy median. The vehicle flipped over several times before entering southbound traffic. Hankins's vehicle then collided with the flipped car.

Due to the severity of the crash, Torres sustained fatal injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died. Hankins was also injured and taken to a hospital. His injuries were said to be non-life-threatening.

Authorities have not yet indicated what factors caused the accident. Their investigations are ongoing.
