Worker Dies in Dagsboro, DE, NRG Power Plant Accident

Dagsboro, DE -- January 31, 2017, a man was killed following an accident in which he somehow fell from the top of the NRG Energy Inc. power plant.

Investigators from the Delaware State Police were called to the Indian River power plant, located at 29416 Rd 332.

At around 8:00 a.m., emergency services received a call from the NRG Energy Inc. plant that a man was critically injured. Initial reports indicate that he was on the roof of the plant and somehow fell to the ground below.

Reports say that the victim died from his injuries, though it's unclear if he transported to a hospital beforehand. NRG officials claim the man was a contractor and not an employee of the company.

Officials continue to investigate the accident. They have not released any further information at this time.
