Two Injured in Schaumburg, IL, School Bus Accident on Meacham

Schaumburg, IL -- February 1, 2017, two people were injured as the result of an accident in which a school bus and two cars collided on Meacham Road.

According to preliminary investigations reported by the police, the accident occurred around 8:15 a.m. at the intersection of Schaumburg Road and Meacham Road.

Investigators have stated that a vehicle was attempting to make a turn at the intersection when icy conditions caused the vehicle to slide through the intersection. This sent the car into the side of the school bus which was in a turn lane. Another vehicle behind the first one also slid out of control and crashed into the bus.

The collision caused the bus driver and one student on the bus to sustain non-critical injuries. They were both transported to nearby hospitals. No other injuries were reported.

Authorities reported that the drivers of both passenger vehicles received citations for failing to reduce speed.
