One Injured in Mooresville, NC, School Bus Accident

Mooresville, NC -- January 27, 2017, one person was injured following an accident in which their vehicle collided with a school bus on Mooresville Road.

Authorities from the Rowan County Police Department responded to the accident scene in the 16000 block of Mooresville Road, near the intersection of London Road.

At around 8:00 a.m., a Rowan-Salisbury ISD school bus was traveling down Mooresville Road with about 14 students on board. Reports say that the bus and a passenger car in the opposite lanes crossed paths with each other. This resulted in a head-on collision.

Following the crash, the driver of the car had to be extricated by rescue crews before being transported to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. No students were injured.

At this time, factors contributing to the accident are unclear. Investigations are ongoing.
