Caleb Serrano Dies in Bayonne, NJ Garbage Truck Accident

Bayonne, NJ -- February 3, 2017, Caleb Serrano was killed following an accident where they were hit by a dump truck while crossing Avenue C.

Bayonne authorities were called to the accident scene around 4:30 a.m. at the intersection of Avenue C and West 55th Street.

According to their initial investigations, 32-year-old Serrano was attempting to cross the roadway at the time. A garbage truck driving through the intersection did not see the pedestrian in time, and the truck ran into him.

EMS were called to the scene to render aid, but Serrano died at the scene of the accident. No other injuries were reported.

Police have not mentioned any particular factors contributing to the accident, nor have they mentioned charges or citations being involved.

They say the crash remains under investigations at this time.
