Ivan Rincon-Ramos Killed in Accident in Longview, TX

Longview, TX -- A vehicle vs. pedestrian incident claimed the life of 34-year-old Ivan Rincon-Ramos in the area of Longview, TX Friday, January 27, 2017.

The incident took place on U.S. 80 near Lake Harris Road around 6 p.m.

It appears the car occupied by the victim was headed west when Mr. Ramos's kids ran in front of the vehicle. The driver of the car, Christopher Michael, claims he attempted to swerve out of the way of the children, but ended up striking Mr. Ramos. Mr. Ramos was initially taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, but succumbed to his injuries the following Monday.

The report made no mention of other injuries in the incident.

The exact cause of the collision is unclear.

More information may be forthcoming pending the official investigation.
