1 Killed, Richard Perkerewicz Injured in Accident in Kildeer, ND

Kildeer, ND -- A collision between two semi-trucks left one dead, and injured 61-year-old Richard Perkerewicz in the area of Kildeer, ND Wednesday, February 1, 2017.

The incident took place on North Dakota Highway 22 about 8 a.m.

It appears a Freightliner box truck was headed south on 22 when it collided with a second Freightliner. The box truck reportedly stopped on the shoulder of the highway. The semi careened into a ditch.

The unidentified driver of the box truck was killed at the scene of the collision.

Mr. Perkerewicz, the driver of the semi, was taken to a nearby hospital with undisclosed injuries. His current condition is unknown.

The official investigation is currently underway and more information may be forthcoming.
