Michael McGuire Injured in Peters Twp., PA, Pedestrian Accident

Peters Township, PA -- January 23, 2017, Michael McGuire was injured following an accident where he was struck by a vehicle while standing in the road.

Police investigators were called to the accident scene just before 8:00 a.m. to the 3000 block of Route 19, near the French Broad River.

According to preliminary information, 31-year-old McGuire entered traffic lanes of Route 12 in order to direct traffic while a co-worker backed an 18-wheeler into the roadway. Apparently, a driver did not see McGuire in the roadway, and McGuire was struck by the car.

Following the collision, medical teams transported McGuire to a nearby hospital via helicopter. His injuries were said to be serious.

At this time, authorities have not said that the driver will face charges or citations. They have not released any more details surrounding the incident.
