Woman Killed in Accident on 14 Mile Rd. in Courtland Twp., MI

Courtland Township, MI -- A collision between a passenger car and a semi-truck left an unidentified woman dead in the area of Courtland Township, MI Friday, January 27, 2017.

Officials say the incident took place about 8:30 a.m. at 14 Mile Road and Berrigan Avenue NE.

It appears the vehicle containing the deceased victim was headed east on 14 Mile Road when it collided with a flatbed truck. The victim, a resident of Rockford, MI, was taken to a nearby hospital, but later succumbed to her injuries.

The exact cause of the incident is unclear.

Authorities are examining the details of the incident and hope to learn more as it concludes.

There was little information regarding the incident at the time of the report.
