One Killed, One Hurt in Truck Accident on I-70 in Tonganoxie, KS

Tonganoxie, KS -- A crash involving a pickup truck and an 18-wheeler left one person dead and injured one in the area of Tonganoxie, KS Thursday, January 26, 2017.

The incident took place on Interstate 70 about 9:05 a.m.

It appears the two vehicles were both westbound when the collision occurred. The collision forced the pickup into the median barrier, throwing the occupants from the passenger-side of the vehicle. The report did not clarify if the driver of the pickup was hurt. A 19-year-old male passenger in the pickup was killed in the collision. A passenger in the semi-truck was injured, but the report made no mention of their condition.

Authorities are examining the details of the incident.
