Officer Injured in Arlington, TX, Drunk Driving Accident on I-30

Arlington, TX -- January 28, 2017, an Arlington Police Officer was injured as the result of an accident where an alleged drunk driver struck his patrol car.

According to preliminary reports, the collision occurred around 3:45 a.m. in the 2100 block of I-30, just north of AT&T Stadium.

Police reported that they made several DWI arrests that night, and one of their officers was hit by one of these drunk drivers. The police cruiser and the drunk driver were both in eastbound lanes when the driver, Luis Devora, somehow crashed into the cruiser.

Following the collision, the officer was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Devora was found to be intoxicated, and he was placed under arrest and charged with driving while intoxicated.

No additional details surrounding the accident have been released at this time.
