Gary Dewayne Johnson Killed in Accident in Houston, TX

Harris County, TX -- A single-vehicle crash claimed the life of Gary Dewayne Johnson in the area of Houston, TX Saturday, January 28, 2017.

The report claims the crash happened northbound on Beltway 8.

It looks like the vehicle occupied by the victim crashed into the base of a a steel pole, leading to the vehicle catching fire. Rescue units arrived to find witnesses breaking the windows of the vehicle to free the man. They were able to free the man from the vehicle, but he was hospitalized, later succumbing to his injuries.

The cause of the incident is unclear.

The investigation is currently underway and may reveal more details at its conclusion.
